Winning the Muslim Writers Award for International Fiction is a great honour, for which I am deeply grateful to the organizers and judges. Especially in the present political climate, when Muslims are stereotyped as being universally at war with the West, it is deeply gratifying to be recognized by Muslims for work which has no Muslim agenda.
