http://www.ifcharity.com/bigread_home.html The BIG Read is an attempt by IF, the London Muslim Centre (LMC), the Islamic Forum of Europe (IFE) and Tower Hamlets Council to break the Guinness World Record for the “most children reading with an adult” (Guinness World Records official title) creating the largest shared reading experience in the World!
In a 12-hour period, up to 5,000 children are needed to listen to an adult read Roald Dahl’s timeless classic, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for 30 minutes. Join a host of schools, celebrities, councillors, teachers and parents in this reading extravaganza, promoting the importance of reading and literacy among children.
