Nicola Monaghan

Nicola has worked as a teacher, a financial analyst and a software guru. She now works part-time as a Fellow of the National Academy of Writing, based at Birmingham City University. Boyd Tonkin included Nicola in the independent’s New Years Eve list of rising talent for 2006. Her first novel, The killing Jar, was published in March 2006 to critical acclaim. It won the Authors’ Club Best First Novel Award, a Betty Trask Award and the Waverton Good Read.
