Clare Lovell

Clare runs the “Transmissions” programme for 12-25 year olds at the Birmingham Rep Theatre, teaching the fundamentals of play writing. Herself a graduate of a programme for young playwrights, she has written for the Contact Theatre in Manchester and is now working in the Rep’s Literary Department supporting writing for and by young people.
 
She is glad to be judging the Muslim Writers Awards under 16’s category because “Young people have a lot to say and not enough opportunities to say it. We should be encouraging their writing as a way to make those voices heard.”
